Change. When it’s more than in your pocket.

Change. Something about me just doesn’t like that word. I’m a creature of routine. A doer of the same habit.

When I go to a restaurant, I usually have about two different things I like to eat there. You can count on it. My husband, on the other hand, likes to try new things. New dishes. I never take the chance because, hey, I may not like it and who wants to waste a night out on ucky food? Not this chick. But sometimes I try his food and it’s yummy and I missed out.  And other times, I’m glad I stuck with my trusty chicken. ;)

But that’s the thing – if you never change, never try new things, you don’t know if you’ll like it.

Sometimes you are forced to change. Have you ever been to the store to look for an item you’ve been buying for years to discover it was gone? As in they don’t make it anymore? The nerve! But then you get something to replace it and the little bugger works better than what you couldn’t find? Yeah, me too.

Been thinking about change lately because it has come to this house.

Last week I went from a stay-at-home mom to a working-outside-the-home mom. Eeeeekkkkkk!!!!!

It is going well so far. Just very different than what we are all used to. Allison was especially sad I wouldn’t be the one to get her off of the bus. We were both fighting tears, honestly, but she did ok and so did I. We made it.

I found myself around the time the girls would be getting off the bus wondering what they were doing and what I was missing out on. Not gonna lie, it hurt a little,  but as one day turned into two and then three, I just knew that it was going to be ok. God gave me peace about it all.

It is something I need to do for the time being. I enjoyed last week, too. I was thankful I was able to help in the business. Work alongside my hubby. I am beginning to learn new things and how to operate machines. It has boosted my confidence that I can do it! And you can do it, too, if you want to or need to!

Thank you to all of you who have encouraged me in this season of change. It helps to know that some of you are right there with me, too.

There is more planning involved now but we are doing it. One day at a time. I’ve been making all of our lunches at night, laying out all of our clothing the night before, and meal planning on Saturdays. I also throw in a load of laundry every morning before I leave and it is keeping things running smoothly. What things do you do to make your days go by more smoothy? This new working Mama could use some tips.

I’m finding that the change I was always afraid of wasn’t so scary. It is actually exciting, a growing experience.

Here’s to embracing “the change.”

Are there any changes you are facing at the moment? We can encourage each other to just embrace them and thrive.

Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me.

This verse is going on repeat in this chicks head. I can do it. You can do it. We can do it. We can do all things through Him.

On to another week and new experiences…
